Concerts

After half-yearly intermission caused by recordings, EW performed in Mezzo Forte club together with prog metal bands Crime Of Passion and Corsair.

The style of music played at the concert transformed from art to progressive, from rock to metal. First played EW, with relatively compact programme, which, however, included two new compositions: As You Wish, I Care Not and And I Will Follow. Also for those who attended the concerts of EW, a surprise was prepared (and as Dima Shtatnov noticed, for those who were at EW concert for the first time, as well): the song The End Of Millennium was performed in Russian.

Then folled Crime Of Passion. The guys played with drive, the programme included their own compositions and songs by other artists. In the song Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden it's worth noticing that original guitar solo was substituted with the keyboard solo. There were played also songs by The Cranberries, Whitesnake, The Police and other famous bands. As for me, with such professionalism the guys surely need more their own material.

The party ended with the performance of Corsair. After rather prolonged sound check gloomy psychedelic motives were heard, and power spilled forth! It was already a true metal! The vocalist's technique reminded of Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie. In general, the performance was cool!

The public filled Mezzo Forte hall completely, many were from the beginning to the end. Thanks those who came this rainy day! In general, I liked very much the atmosphere of the party - the energy mixture of art rock and prog metal, drive and positive. Hope that this is not the last joint concert of EW, COP and Corsair.

It's the second concert of EW and Kamera Obscura in Tramplin club. EW's programme was traditional this time, EW began with How Long I'd Been Facing The Dark, and finished with The End Of Millennium. Also EW played a brand new song, a cheerful and maybe not fully art-rock And A New Day Will Come. And a traditionally played song Too Close To Heavens with changed video this time was specially dedicated to friends from Elbrus - guys, hope that we'll meet again!

Together with Eternal Wanderers the bands Inner Drive and Novaya Zemlya took part in the concert. Earlier EW played in Mezzo Forte more then a year ago, on the 25th of March 2007. It must be noticed that this time the impression of the club was much better. EW performed first and the programme was not long compared with one for some previous concerts, about one hour and ten minutes. There was no Mounds in the play list which was ever performed at EW’s concerts but there was Shiver! instead, a unusual for EW metal song (just presence of 7/4, change of beat and bass solo can excuse it :) Unexpectedly somebody specially marked the instrumental piece So Far And So Near - thanks! In general, this time many people personally thanked the musicians after the concert, and it gave the feeling of satisfaction. In such moments we realize over and over again that the most precious reward is when our music finds response in people's souls.

Inner Drive who followed EW this time performed without losses - with violin, flute, guitar, keyboards, bass and drums. They were true to their usual style and the public welcomed their complicated intellectual music.

Performance of the band Novaya Zemlya was the last item of the concert. Some time before the concert their drummer had left them and others had to play with electronic drums from notebook, and they did in a rather good way. But in our opinion, the style and atmosphere of their music didn’t comply with two other bands.

At the party devoted to art and progressive rock music their programmes were introduced by Eternal Wanderers and Inner Drive. Before the beginning of the show music from Dream Theater's album Scenes From A Memory filled the hall of the club emphasizing the 'progressive' nature of the party. Eternal Wanderers opened the party with the big programme that included a new song about the creation of the World - And The World Will Be with a video clip and a new video clip for the instrumental piece So Far And So Near. There was also a surprise for the audience - in the middle of the show Dmitry Shtatnov played solo bass piece, and later the same Dmitry-bassist reincarnated into Dmitry-leading vocalist who sang the hit Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden so emotianally that he really entranced the public. The song And The World Will Be was performed together with the leader of the band Inner Drive Sergei Bolotov, who played on 2nd keyboard. Among the guests were noticed the first EW's drummer Sergey Alyamkin and the creator of some video clips for the show Georgy Belov.

The sound engineer Pavel did his best to make the performance vivid and expressive though in the end of the concert even he couldn't cope with caprices of equipment when suddenly the balance of instruments became a bit inadequate.

EW were followed by Inner Drive. Just some hours before the concert they found out that Natalia Filatova who plays flute couldn’t take part in it. But other musicians have to be given their due - they were not confused and did their best playing confidently with the elements of creativeness and improvisation. For the first time with ID played the violinist Andrey Ruhadze.
In all the atmosphere of the concert appeared to be positively progressive. :) Thanks to all!

Six rock bands participated in the final concert of the festival Time Has Come, nomination "Rock". The main formal purpose of the final concert was to name the winner, the second and the third places were not given. At the beginning of the concert the presenter Svetlana said that apparently there must be a mad competition, but it seemed to us it was not so, every band played for their own pleasure and joy of the audience. It can't be said that EW made 'everybody dance' but for sure the made 'everybody grasp':). The band Dom Khudozhnika (can be translated as The Artist's House) from Ryazan' became the winner of the festival.

The acme of the festival concert was performance of the special guest Ariel. The band changed thrice during the long period of its existence. It showed the young musicians the highest class of playing that resembled the recorded album. And they inspired everyone with their positive energy not worse then any modern young band. The most remarkable part of Ariel's performance was when they sang immortal songs by The Beatles.

In all, it was great. The festival brought many positive emotions, new acquaintances, and of course became a good opportunity for musicians to show themselves. Thanks to the organizers and the jury!

January 20th 2008, Moscow , GOROD club. Festival Time Has Come . 3d place and reaching the final!

Performance in the festival concert, nomination Rock. Ten bands took part in the competition concert. The program appeared to be very various, and this fact was mentioned by members of the jury. EW presented four compositions: Energy Of Light, Mounds, The End Of Millennium and Revival with video show. The core of the supporting group was formed mainly by the students of the institute where Sergey Rogulya studies - Moscow State University of Railway Engineering (MIIT). It was really great to play and feel their support! EW's performance was a success among the audience and judges who pointed out originality and uncommonness of the music. Certainly, there may be diverse attitude to different competitions, marks, grades etc. but really it was pleasant to obtain some "official" recognition of our, to put it mildly, non-pop music.

In all, the atmosphere of the festival was cool! Big respect to the organizers Svetlana and Irina! A also to the members of the jury for enduring such a long show that lasted about seven hours!

The joint concert of the rock bands Eternal Wanderers and Kamera Obscura. The EW performance was not long compared with one in Tramplin club and FM club. Inspite of a lot of equipment in the club problems with commutation prevented EW from using some devices - Elena's analog rack synthesizer and Dima Drogunov's effect processor. EW presented a new song - Turn The Power On! with the new video. By the way, the creator of video for many compositions Georgy Belov was among spectators.

After EW came the turn of Kamera Obscura. Some songs were accompanied with the performance of the dancer, and for a couple of songs Dmitry Bebenin used a strange thing - something in form of guitar, the deck decorated with klaxon, telephone disc, a bike ring and something else. It looked very unusually :)

The joint concert of the rock bands Eternal Wanderers, Kamera Obscura and Inner Drive. The concert started with the performance of Kamera Obscura, which as usual was lively, energetic and cheerful. The guys played perfectly despite the fact that they rehearsed with a new drummer very little time, and from the beginning they created a good mood of the public. As usual, they played well both their own songs as well as songs by other artists - Alice Cooper, David Bowie and The Beatles. As the vocalist and leader of the band Dmitry Bebenin said "It's strange that I'd never heard any other artist play the Beatles' Anytime At All ". :)

The concert continued with the performance of Eternal Wanderers. It was the first concert in which participated EW's new drummer Sergey Rogulya. Sergey was visibly nervous before the concert, but he managed to cope with excitement and played rather well. There was no traditional change of players for Too Close To Heavens, acoustic guitar was played by flutist Dmitry Drogunov. The apotheosis of the performance was the loved by many listeners Mounds where Dmitry (the same Drogunov) plerformed the spirits of the past - his sepulchral laughter caused the undescribable rapture of the public, making him the hero of the party. :) EW also presented a new composition So Far And So Near.

The concert was concluded by the prog rock band Inner Drive with technical intellectual instrumental compositions. Their performance was very well met by the public, inspite of the fact that their music is rather complicated. The leader of the band Sergey Bolotov conjured something on keyboards, and special fascination was given by graceful Natalia Filatova on flute.

As a whole, the concert was successful. A good positive atmosphere was made in many respects due to the administation and personnel of the club. We are grateful to the club's art director Ella Morozova, and of course many thanks from all the musicians to the sound engineer Pavel for the comfortable playing!

EW presented their first studio album The Door to a Parallel World. At the concert EW performed all seven compositions from the album, as well as four compositions not included in the album. In conclusion EW played Led Zeppelin's Kashmir, a band of all times and nations. The concert as usual was accompanied with video, which this time was not above the stage, but on plasma panels. The performance of EW lasted one hour and a half and was very positively met by the public. There were some confusing moments, for example, when EW played their lively positive song Ride Without End, by accident video for Mounds started, with gravemounds and death with scythe. :)

In the concert took part a band Kamera Obscura. It is a merry rock'n'roll band, which cheered the public up with its positive songs before EW's performance, for this special thanks and respect.

EW presented two new songs - Revival and The End Of Millennium. Revival was greatly adorned with flute solo by Dmitry Drogunov - respect :). The drummer of Quorum rock band Sergey Nikonorov played drums for Too Close To Heavens (as at the preceding concert), and Sergey Alyamkin played guitar. At the concert new video was presented: three videos by Georgy Belov (NomaD) Running In The Chaos, No Way Back and Revival, and video by EW The End Of Millennium. As a whole the concert was successful, except for some problems with video equipment.

EW performed the first concert with new members of the band, a new programme and new video. Thus, a new page in the history of the band was opened. You can find a report about the concert at http://www.zvuki.ru/R/P/15848.

But at that concert heavy psychedelic spirit was distinctively vividly apprehended. The other part of the audience which disliked the pieces also expressed it rather eloquently. As it seemed to EW, no one remained indifferent!
